SeriesGuide

SeriesGuide has its own website now: have a look at seriesguide.uwetrottmann.com!

Overview and some hints

After adding a show it appears in the show list. Long-press on a show to get more information, update or delete it. Tap on it, to get more detailed information about the next episode and to get to all episodes.

shows2.0

Hint: Below the show title you see the next unwatched episode. You can change this to display the next to be aired (= future) episode in Settings:

settings

Local content

To get the description of most/some shows and episodes in your native language, go into Settings and change the TheTVDB language. After this, you have to do an Update in the show list (press the Update button in the bar on top).

Unwatched episodes and sorting

The season list shows the number of unwatched (= unticked) episodes that already aired. Unaired episodes are displayed in brackets.

Hint: You can sort shows, seasons and episodes in multiple ways. Just press your Menu button while shows, seasons or episodes are shown and select Sort by.

Backup your shows

Help improve show data

Go to thetvdb.com to improve information about all shows, seasons and episodes. Also you can add new shows or help translate available data into your language. TheTVDB is maintained by the community and provides the show data free of charge, so they can use a little help (maybe donate?).

How can i change language inside the application? Its only in english…?

  • Anonymous

SeriesGuide uses the language set in Android settings. However it falls back
to English if there is no translation for your language.
Currently there are full/partial translations for Danish, German, Finnish,
Polish, Norwegian, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Swedish.
If you want to help translate to more languages go to
    crowdin.net/project/seriesguide-translations/invite

Norwegian doesnt show up in the app on my Desire HD, and the phone is set to Norwegian (Bokmål)

Hm, the Android Market publishing tool says it is correctly translated to
Norwegian (the interface, e.g. menus). Do you mean how to get the show names
and episode descriptions in Norwegian? For this you have to change “TheTVDB
    language” in SeriesGuide settings.

Norwegian language code must be nb or no_nb in android for it to work.
    Most likely nb

Thanks, looked it up. It really has to be nb instead of no what my
translation tool suggested :( Update is pushed out right now.

  • Zyntax

It works with Norwegian now, although everything that i translated is not showing, for instance, “Continuing” is still in english and not the Norwegian word, even though everything has been translated.

    Cheers Zyntax

K, forgot to use the translation, fixed and will be in the next update. I
couldn’t spot anymore so far excluding the newly added strings for
Upcoming/Recent of course which… I see you have translated already ;)
Alright, those will be imported and shipped with the next update hopefully
    still today. Thanks!

I’ve almost finished translating SeriesGuide to Turkish on crowdin. You can check out. By the way we need a program like SeriesGuide for movies too:)

Already seen it :D The 1.8.9 update includes already a partial translation,
didn’t know you were right in the middle of it. The next update will inlcude
the full translation then. Thanks for helping out!

Hey, just want to let you know that your APP is awesome :)

Is there maybe a possibility to add a widget that is 4×4 in size? Menaing a whole 4.3″ screen size?

  • Anonymous

Thank you very much. :: Well I will never say never ;)

Great app. However it doesn’t sync with trakt.tv for me. Known problem? Any work-arounds?

  • Anonymous

Yeah, I get this a lot lately. Looks like I was not clear enough: I’m
phasing in trakt.tv support. Right now you can only mark episodes as seen
and rate them via the share buttons. Also if you enabled integration it
auto-submits episodes you mark watched in the Overview (tap on a show, then
    via the eye-button).
I’m currently working on a version that includes experimental marking of
watched episodes from trakt in SeriesGuide and which has a better
description of the current trakt integration.
